She was always there - I was just looking in the wrong place 🔍

Swiping, matching, chatting, dating, hopping, yodeling, normal or elite partners, I've been through them all. What I always wanted was something completely different - to meet. Getting to know people in real life. Whether in the supermarket, doing sports, hiking or in a bar. I also like to just be friends at first, the sparks can still fly at some point. I always used to meet my partners through friends. After we broke up after seven years of dating, I was suddenly faced with a completely new situation: my partner was gone, but so were many of my old friends. I quickly realized that I had to change something ☺️

A friend had once told me about a fun Meet5 activity. So I downloaded the app and created a nice profile. The whole concept was very new to me. The fact that I couldn't chat with the free version was unusual. But it made it clear to me that the focus was on the activities. There were only a few times when I would have liked to write to someone.

The next step was clear: I wanted to go on a date. The context wasn't so important at first, just try it out. That's how I ended up at the local weekly activity. I really liked the fact that it was called Wochentreff, I'm not the regulars' table type. After I registered, I noticed that my profile was viewed much more often and I actually quickly got my first favorite. I didn't know who that was at the time 😊

It was early evening in the wine bar and the best thing was that a few people at the table already knew each other, but not everyone. There were twelve of us. Four men and eight women, so atypical for meeting people online, I thought to myself. I had somehow expected that only the guys would turn up in the end. But all the women were there and my God, it was loud. Topics of conversation ranged from houseplants to relationship crises to home-brewed beer, it was all over the place 🍷

Carmen was sitting at the other end of the table, I had already noticed her positively in the group chat. The emphasis is on the other end of the table. We didn't have much contact that evening. But I liked the way she laughed and of course our side of the table had a good time too. We played cards, someone had brought “Spicy”. It's a variant of the classic card game “Lies”, only with nicer graphics. I don't want to tell the wrong story here, but there was a lot of lying and cheating going on. Unfortunately, I lost big, I'm just too honest. And the evening was over too quickly 🃏

We all had a good time and it was clear that we wanted to see each other again. But it was clear to me that I wanted to see Carmen again. The most important thing was to wait and see. At least one day. You don't want to look desperate. But I still wanted to know who had favored me before the meeting and simply had to get Premium. It was actually Carmen! Then I simply wrote to her directly. My creativity was enough for a “Hey”, luckily she replied in more detail 😄

I don't want to go on too long about our many other weekly get-togethers, hikes, bowling evenings or even meetings for two, I can only say that Meet5 saved me from the TV and I can always do something with the great community or with my Carmen, who I found here, whenever I want 🍀
